ELMS

The Computer Science Department ELMS system is now available. The system is intended to facilitate the distribution of Microsoft products that are available to Computer Science students and faculty.

Important things to know:

  • YOU MUST BE ON CAMPUS OR CONNECTED THROUGH THE VPN to access the software. For more information about connecting through the VPN go to http://it.usu.edu/htm/networking/vpn/vpninstaller
  • If you are enrolled in a Computer Science class you are eligible to download this software.
  • You may download each title only once.
  • Due to the size of the downloads, it is impractical to receive these through a dialup connection. It is recommended to access these from a campus computer with a CD burner. CD burners can be found in Old Main computer labs 406 and 407.
  • Ignore the billing/credit card information. These downloads are free.

The new login for MSDNAA is MSDNAA Online Software System(http://e5.onthehub.com/WebStore/Welcome.aspx?vsro=8&ws=9E7C472C-969B-E011-969D-0030487D8897). Your username and password should have been emailed to you prior to the semester starting. If you did not receive this email, then please request login information from cs.help@usu.edu.

Many of the files available for download are of the type .iso extension. This requires you to burn the .iso or CD image onto a CD or DVD.

FAQ

Check your email for records of this. It is most likely your aggiemail or cc.usu.edu email addres s.

2. What is my password?

The MSDNAA website has a reset password feature. Please use that. Request additional help from cs.help@usu.edu

This could mean that you have a bad Internet connection. Try downloading it from campus. The number one reason for this is that you are not connected to the USU VPN. Download instructions from http://www.it.usu.edu/htm/downloads for setting up your VPN.

4. How do I get an additional download when my first copy is bad?

Email cs.help@usu.edu to have the System Administrator reset your download limits.
